MEDEA Institute, with support from the European Belgium Movement are pleased to invite you to a lunch discussion with Didier Van der Meeren (Le Monde des Possibles / FAL), Jamal Youssfi (Company of New Missing / FAL), Wajdi Khalifa (ARABS / FAL) and Vicent Garcés (Mediterranean Citizens’ Assembly and European parliamentarian).

During this new appointment of the “Midis of the Mediterranean”, we will take stock of the new challenges for civil society and the Mediterranean citizens of this two years. This is an opportunity to deal with intercultural dialogue and cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean in order to face the new challenges of the region after the Arab Spring and the crisis in Europe.
In order to achieve this, we invited three members of the Belgian network of the Anna Lindh Foundation (ALF) and Vicent Garcés, member of the European Parliament and member of the Advisory Council of the Mediterranean Citizens’ Assembly (ACM).
What is the importance of the Anna Lindh Foundation in the current situation in the Euro-Med region? The speakers will discuss the treatment of cultural diversity in the media, intercultural learning, human mobility, the role of culture in the Mediterranean relations, the intercultural citizenship, the Union for the Mediterranean and the regional cooperation. They return on the major trends, tensions and transitions in the Mediterranean, as well as future projects.
When? Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 12:30 to 14h
