International Conference: “Languages, Cultures and Mediterranean-ness”

Le Laboratoire de Recherche Ouvrages du Supérieur et l’Ecole Doctorale Langues de Spécialité (University of Oran) organize the 8th International Conference “Languages, Cultures and Mediterranean-ness”, on May  22th and 23th in Tlemcen (Algery).

“The Mediterranean Area”, commonly known under the generic term of “The Mediterranean” is much more a zone of mixing and contacts of languages, dialects and cultures in all their shapes and forms, than a mere geographical space. The issue on the intercultural exchange in “The Mediterranean” remains a topical issue for a variety of wide range of motives and purposes. “The Mediterranean” represents the core or the heart of a set of beliefs and lifestyles that reflect the identities, experiences and cultural aspects that are found throughout the Eastern and Western Worlds.
The two shores of “The Mediterranean” represent a diverse and diversified geopolitical, linguistic and cultural entity that is provokes thinking and research about this subject. This is what this conference aims to obtain.

2. Migration, mutation, identity and difference in The Mediterranean
3. The Oral and written heritage in The Mediterranean as an intercultural exchange vector
4. Architecture, languages and cultures in The Mediterranean
5. The intercultural Mediterranean diversity and contacts
6. The notions of space and time in the Mediterranean Culture (s)
7. Culture in the teaching / learning of a foreign language.
